Maui Wowi Hawaiian has been listed as one of the “50 Top Franchises for Veterans.” The list was created by The World Franchising Network. The results were published in the USA TODAY last month. This is the second time Maui Wowi has received recognition for their work with veterans. The company was also ranked a Top Military Friendly Franchise by G.I. Jobs Magazine.
“Being recognized in USA TODAY by World Franchising Network is a huge honor and testament to our franchise system and values,” said Justin Livingston, director of global franchise development for the coffee and smoothie company. “Maui Wowi has proven to be an ideal way for veterans to transition back into civilian life. Embraced by our support staff and our franchisees all across the world, when veterans become part of this big ‘ohana, they are provided with tools, resources, and processes to assist them in becoming successful entrepreneurs.”
The World Franchising Network chose 50 franchisors from more than 400 companies requesting evaluation for the article. Every participating company was required to submit a questionnaire with data such as the number and percentage of total units owned by vets.
“The steady increase in veteran representation within the overall franchising community over the last several years has been extremely encouraging,” stated Rob Bond, founder of the World Franchising Network. “It certainly is clear evidence of the intrinsic values, invaluable experience learned through life’s lessons and the exceptional work ethic of our military veterans. Hopefully, this trend will continue so that these fine young men and women can test their skills in franchising.”
Livingston states that the company always welcomes new franchisees with military backgrounds, and offers a veteran discount off the franchise fee. The company also runs an annual “double down discount” during the month of November in honor of Veteran’s Day.
